Building part browser

This section is about how to insert and load families from NTI CONNECT directly into Revit models.

 

How to insert building parts in Revit

1.     Click Building part browser on the NTI CONNECT ribbon

2.    A window with the building part browser opens

3.    Filter by standards, by choosing from the dropdown list (optional)

4.    Enter text to search by (optional)

5.    Click the given element

6.    Click either Insert to use in Revit directly or click Load to load it into the project.

 

Please note that the Revit project must be saved before connecting the project to NTI CONNECT.

 

How to load several building parts in Revit

1.     Click on the Building part browser in the NTI CONNECT ribbon

2.    The Building part browser will open

3.    Filter by one or more standards from the dropdown list (optional)

4.    Search by text (optional)

5.    Choose several building parts from the list

6.    Click Load to load the building parts into the model.

 

How to see update info for a building part

1.  Open Building part browser from the NTI CONNECT ribbon

2.  Sign into NTI CONNECT

3.  Find the building part either in the list or by search

4.  Hover the information icon next to the building part to see update information

5.  Click Update (optional).

 

 

How to update parameters

1.     Click Building part browser in the NTI CONNECT ribbon

2.    The Building part browser will open

3.    Click Perform update

a.     If the button is disabled, there are no parameter updates

4.    Click View result details to see an overview of the parameter changes (optional)

5.    Click OK to close the dialog box

 

 

How to update Optional updates

Optional updates are building part updates on Account building parts that have not yet been executed in any models on the project.
When an update has been executed in at least one model it becomes a mandatory update.
This to ensure that the project data in all models are alike.

 

1.     Click Building part browser in the NTI CONNECT ribbon

2.    The Building part browser will open

3.    Click View updates next to optional building part updates

a.     If the button is disabled, there are no parameter updates

4.    Choose which building part updates from the list to be executed

5.    Click Update to close the dialog box

 

 

How to update Mandatory updates

Mandatory updates are building part updates on project and/or account building parts, that have been executed in at least one model on the project.
This to ensure that the project data in all models are alike.

 

1.     Click Building part browser in the NTI CONNECT ribbon

2.    The Building part browser will open

3.    Click View updates next to Mandatory building part updates

a.     If the button is disabled there are no parameter updates

4.    Choose which building part updates from the list to be executed

5.    Click OK to close the dialog box

 

 

How to insert building parts in Revit from account (without connecting model to project)

1.     Open Building part browser from the NTI CONNECT ribbon

2.    Sign in to NTI CONNECT

3.    Click Insert from account

4.    Select the account to insert from (this is only an option if there are multiple accounts to choose from)

5.    Click OK

 

Please note that the building part standards related to the inserted building parts will also be added when the model is connected to a project.
